From the Director’s Desk…The camping season has ended, and another year has gone by. When I reflect on the events that have taken place this year, I think of all the wonderful experiences that took place. It has been a good year, but I also reflect on my volunteer staff. We work with 85% of volunteer staff, and they have worked long hours with little sleep or rest. I watched them wear down, yet they kept going. I ask myself why these incredible people would give so much of their souls to this place, we call Canaan Acres. For some, they have always been involved. They have been brought up on these grounds and camp ministry is part of who they are. Others have been invited to be part of some event held here, were touched by God, and also want to be part of the amazing things that He is doing here. I am eternally grateful to each person and their commitment to the ministry of the camp. Camp ministry can be hard work, and Jesus knows that. In Matthew 11:28 states, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Jesus encouraged His disciples to rest and renew their strength often. To my family, my staff, I love you! Thank you for all your hard work, I appreciate you more than you know. I pray for your rest. Pastor Mike
